So it isn't enough to spend hours in the dirt, digging and planting my way to tranquility: I simply MUST share my beauties!

Here are a few of my favorite plant photos that help me relax and unplug after a hard day teaching. Hope you enjoy!
I love to plant flowers that attract bees and other pollinators! These Blazing Stars are some of my favorite PA-friendly flowers, as the color and blossoms are just so delicate and beautiful! Taking some time to admire nature and sketch a little in my nature journal has been a wonderful way to decompress after work--so much so that I make it a regular part of my classroom time as well!
I planted this two years ago from an unlabeled bag of bulbs. Imagine my surprise and delight when I got these beautiful yellow peony blossoms! I love the lesson that unexpected blessings stem from unlikely sources!
So easy and so beautiful...I love adding different shades of begonias to my front porch in the spring! These make my morning meditations- followed-by-a-cup-o'coffee so much more lovely!
I've been working on landscaping beneath our many trees...trying to cut down on mowing as well as to add character to the yard! These little oases are really taking off, and I particularly love incorporating a tour of all these beautiful little areas on my mindfulness walks after a long day's work.
Even when a little ragged, my Narcissus are still beautiful! Finding something powerful and unique in every situation is a key focus of my guided meditation practices and these little lovelies help me remember this...while they are in bloom, anyway!
Oh Columbine...could you be any lovelier? My absolute favorite area in my garden is a flowerbed that was long neglected before I moved in. As I have gradually untangled the plants from the weeds, I have been so lucky to find some truly hidden treasures, like my lovely Columbines! This area of my garden reminds me that taking the time to "tend the garden" and practice self-care is so important!
